WHITMIRE — Beginning with the 2013-14 school year, all students entering seventh grade must receive or have already received a dose of T-dap vaccine on or after their seventh birthday to protect them from whooping cough (pertussis). The child’s school needs a South Carolina Certificate of Immunization, before the first day of school, showing that he or she has received this newly required T-dap vaccine. Avoid the rush by making an appointment with your child’s health care provider today to get the required T-dap vaccine. If you have questions, contact the school nurse.
