NEWBERRY COUNTY — The School District of Newberry County is administering the Palmetto Assessment of State Standards (PASS) writing test for students in third through eighth grades March 19 and March 20. From March 21 to March 26, make-up testing will be allowed.
Parents can receive more information about the state test and review sample test items at the state education department’s website: www.ed.sc.gov/agency/programs-services/145.
To help children be prepared, parents are encouraged have their children get plenty of rest the night before the test and eat a good breakfast either at home or at school. Breakfast is provided to all students.
Students cannot have any electronic or other device with them that can be used for communicating, timing or imaging including cell phones, pagers, beepers, headphones, stop watches, electronic translators, hand held devices, PDAs or any other electronic imagining or photographic devices.
