NEWBERY — The Miss Newberry Academy 2013 pageant was held March 2 with the reigning queen Emily Senn as the emcee. The theme this year was “Puttin’ on the Ritz.”
The eight contestants performed a routine to the remixed version of “Puttin’ on the Ritz” to open the pageant. They wore red sequin bow ties, black top hats and black vests with black pants.
The eight contestants voted in by their peers were Ansley McJunkins, Amanda Crayne, Rachel Franklin, Emma Lindsay, Kaitlyn Nobles, Harley Johnson and Charlotte Carulli.
The 2013 winners are Emma Lindsay, Miss Congeniality and second runner-up; Charlotte Carulli, first runner-up; and Harley Johnson, Miss Newberry Academy 2013.
