PROSPERITY — Prosperity was highlighted Tuesday morning as a biker group spoke to the Prosperity Business Association about filming the town and promoting tourism there.
Mike Seay from Batesburg-Leesville is a part of the www.bikertv.org and they were interested in live streaming the town especially with the Prosperity Hoppin’ festival approaching May 4.
The group originally starting filming small towns as a way to highlight trips for bikers as they travel around visiting smaller towns.
The business association members were enthused and, according to the president Marilyn Spurgin, definitely want to keep the option open and discuss how to make it work.
The business association also discussed what the members would do during the Hoppin’. The association helps take care of the foods including their fried frog legs. Frog legs aren’t the only food item.
In other business, there will be a meeting at 9:30 a.m. Monday about the crosswalk in downtown Prosperity with Department of Transportation representatives.
Spurgin pointed out that they are looking for ideas on how to provide a better and safer area around the crosswalk and also what to do with the crosswalk. The meeting is open to the public.
