PROSPERITY — The coaches of Region 2 AA voted Cornelius Glasgow and Zach Parker to the All Region team for their play during the basketball season.
Glasgow, a senior at Mid-Carolina High School, has been the team captain for the past two seasons. This season he averaged 10.7 points, 7.9 rebounds, 1.8 blocks and 1.1 steals. He also took seven charges. In region play he was the team leader in all of those statistics except steals.
Parker, a sophomore, was a leader in his first year as a varsity player.
“Parker has probably worked as hard as any player I have coached,” said Emmanuel DeWalt, coach at Mid-Carolina. “He came to the gym to workout at 6 a.m. every day from March until the end of last school year. He continued to do this at the beginning of the school year all the way up until the beginning of basketball season. That hard work resulted with a very productive season.”
Parker averaged 10.5 points, 4.7 rebounds, and a steal per game. He also took two charges.
“I was excited for these young men when the coaches of our region selected them for the all region team. Next season we will surely miss Cornelius and his leadership, but we are really happy to have Zach for two more years,” said DeWalt.
