NEWBERRY — Two sisters both placed in 4-H horse competition shows held at Clemson University.

She won first place in Equitation Hunter over Fences, two feet, on her mare Smokin’ Ember. She also competed in the S.C. State Fair Horse Show 2012 where she won first place in Equitation Hunter Under Saddle and fourth place in Hunter Under Saddle on her gelding Sox.

After winning several Top 10 ribbons at both, she was invited to represent South Carolina through Clemson University at the All-American Quarter Horse Congress held in Columbus, Ohio, in October 2012. Her Horsebowl team placed fourth overall and the Hippology team won first in the station phase.
Additionally, Hailey Mundell placed seventh highest individual in the written phase. The Chapin Ride-with Pride 4-H Club meets at 7 p.m. the second Tuesday of the month at Crooked Creek Park. Contact Sandy House at 345-1731 for more information.
