MC Middle boys are 7-1 for the season

PROSPERITY — The Mid-Carolina Middle School boys’ basketball team improved its record to 7-1 after a Monday night win over Batesburg-Leesville but the girls were not as lucky.

The boys were able to pull out a 46-38 win at home against Batesburg-Leesville on Monday.

Keenan Boland was the top scorer for the Rebels with 14 points and he had three steals, an assist, and three rebounds.

Cade Ruff followed closely with 12 points, four rebounds six assists and a rebound.

Zachary Hentz added nine points, a steal, an assist, and nine rebounds.

Corey Stone made eight points, two steals, four assists and four rebounds.

Jaterran Wise contributed two points, two steals and five rebounds.

Iyon Thompson made a point and had two steals, a blocked shot and seven rebound.

The middle school girls’s record fell to 3-5 with a 28-14 loss to Batesburg-Leesville on Monday.

Just three of the Mid-Carolina girls were able to get the ball through the hoop during the game.

Charlsy Traylor scored 10 of the teams 14 points and had a steal and six rebounds.

Gracen Hester added three points and a rebound

Chazity Counts had a point and two rebounds.

Cassi Ruff had two steals for the Rebels and Alex Fulmer had three rebounds.

The young Rebels will face Wright Middle at home on Thursday. The girls tip off at 5:30 p.m. with the boys game to follow.
