Awesome authors were honored at Prosperity-Rikard Elementary for the months of November and December. They are, front row, Bella Duncan, Jeff Harmon, Daylen Long, Zemirah Byrd, Sarah Hicks and Chasity Johnson. Back row, Sam Hawkins, Zacorian Byrd, Hayes Waites, Lee-Anna Garland, Kirsten Bickley, Lexi Sease and Jon Lawson Cope. Awesome authors are students who have an opportunity to read their original writings on the school’s morning news show. Three times a week, awesome authors are featured from various classrooms from kindergarten through fifth grades. They are chosen by the teachers to share all or part of the writing that they have created in the classroom. Stories range from journal entries to research topics and original short stories.
