NEWBERRY — Mrs. Bertha Burton, 100, of 655 Bush River Road, Newberry, died Tuesday at her home.
Born in Newberry County, she was the daughter of the late Benjamin Jackson Sr. and the late Bessie Neal Jackson. She was a member of Hannah A.M.E. Church.
Surviving are nieces, Helen B. Hester and Bernice Camp of Newberry, Bessie Mae Nealous (Teddy) of Valrico, Fla., Popie Wiliams of Saluda and Katherine Wells of Clinton; nephews, Bennie Bouknight of Lamott, Pa., Malverse Jackson Jr. (Rhonda) of Cleveland, Ohio, John Mangum (Mary) of Catonsville, Md., Moses Jackson Jr. (Gloria) of Columbia and Bennie Jackson (Elizabeth) of Newberry and other loving relatives.
Funeral services will be conducted at noon Sunday at Hannah A.M.E. Church in Newberry. Burial will follow in Werts Cemetery in Newberry.
Arrangements are under the direction of Wilson Funeral Home of Newberry.
