Have you ever asked yourself, “I wonder if hypnotism really works?”

Personally, I have pondered that question many times throughout my lifetime.

So, while searching for entertainment for your chamber’s annual meeting, I was contacted be a gentleman living in Atlanta who is a comedian as well as a hypnotist.

We talked for several minutes, and I became interested. A few days later, as he had promised, his information arrived in the mail. After reading the endorsements from people throughout the country, many of whom I know personally, I felt he would be a great fit for our annual meeting.

Again we talked and his schedule was open for our planned affair on Tuesday, Jan. 22, so we agreed for him to come to Newberry to do a show for you.

Please allow me to tell you about what awaits you on the evening of this event.

The Firehouse Conference Center will be open at 6 p.m. and for about one hour and 20 minutes you will be treated to fantastic food and drinks as you meet fellow chamber members in a meet and greet environment.

We ask you be seated in the Opera House by 7:30 p.m. for an evening of laughter and enjoyment, where Doctor Holiday will make your evening complete.

Now I ask you, where can you go to have this kind of evening for $30?

Please know that your chamber staff promises to make this a great event that you will remember for years to come, and you just may find answers to questions that all of us are asking.

Also, you will want to include our Quarterly Legislative Update Breakfast on your calendar.

As one of your chamber benefits, we present your State Representative Walt McLeod and your State Senator Ronnie Cromer, who will provide their insight on what is happening in Columbia and how these items will affect you.

This year we will be utilizing another member’s restaurant, Dee’s Family Restaurant, located on S.C. Highway 76 near Pioneer Foods, just outside of Prosperity.

Please mark your calendar for Tuesday, Feb. 5 from 7:30 until 9 a.m.

We promise you will not be disappointed with a full service breakfast buffet as well as the opportunity to hear from and talk with our legislators, all for a mere 10 dollars each.

The year 2013 will be a year of challenges, this we know, so you really need to consider getting involved in chamber events.

Let me assure you that you will never be disappointed when you attend a chamber function.

Should you have questions regarding these programs, please call Liz, Michelle, or me at 276-4274.

Why not start out 2013 by supporting your Newberry County Chamber of Commerce.
