GREENWOOD — William Richard “Bill” Culbreath, 76, resident of 215 Sylvan Road, husband of Helen Loise Lawrimore Culbreath, with whom he celebrated their 59th wedding anniversary on Dec. 24, 2012, died Jan. 4, 2013 at Self Regional Medical Center in Greenwood.

Born in Aiken, July 6, 1936, he was a son of the late William Aiken and Ruth Copenhaver Culbreath.

Mr. Culbreath was retired as district maintenance engineer after 37 years of service from the S.C. Department of Transportation. He served 13 years in the S.C. Army National Guard.

Mr. Culbreath was a member of Jordan Memorial Baptist Church and was formerly a long time member of Rehoboth Baptist Church in Plum Branch. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather.

Surviving in addition to his wife of the home are two sons, William R. “Will” Culbreath Jr. and wife Teresa of Greenville and Michael E. “Mike” Culbreath and wife Kathi of Abbeville; six grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Patty Darmer Culbreath.

Mr. Culbreath was preceded in death by his brother, Preston E. Culbreath.

Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 3 p.m. from the Blyth Funeral Home Chapel. Burial with military honors will be in Oakbrook Memorial Park. Visitation from 1 to 3 p.m. at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers the family request memorials be made to Jordan Memorial Baptist Church, 1515 East Durst Ave., Greenwood, SC 29649 or Rehoboth Baptist Church, 2896 Key Road, Plum Branch, SC 29845.
