PROSPERITY — Teddy Ralph Hawkins, 69, died Friday, Jan. 4, 2013, at Palmetto Health Richland.

Born on Sept. 20, 1943, in Prosperity, he was the son of the late Ralph and Grace Bowers Hawkins.

He served in the S.C. National Guard, was retired from Shakespeare Components and was a member of Zion United Methodist Church.

Mr. Hawkins is survived by sons, Steven Craig (Carrie) Hawkins of Cincinnati, Ohio and Joey Michael Hawkins of Prosperity; grandchildren, Jeffrey Fellers, Drew Hawkins, Kaeley Hawkins and Elyssa Hawkins and special friend, Dorothy Powell of Columbia.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2013, at McSwain-Evans Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Newberry Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Tuesday from 12:30–1:30 p.m .at the funeral home.

Active pallbearers will be Ryan McGrady, Chris Spires, Jimmy Spires and Tim Spires.
