NEWBERRY — The Newberry Adult Education program recognized students for excelling in the classroom and for having perfect attendance in November.

One student was honored for completing the naturalization process and becoming an American citizen.

David Green, director, said that he is extremely proud of all these students for taking advantage of a second opportunity to complete their educational goal. They are model students and citizens who are determined to succeed, and they exemplify work ethics and character traits for others to follow.

Maribel Martinez, who became an American citizen in November, was congratulated for completing all of the citizenship requirements. She continues her efforts to become an informed and productive citizen by studying to pass the GED.
