Dear Editor:
As the holidays approach, we must be vigilant in protecting our pets from holiday hazards. The members of the Newberry County Humane Society would like to alert pet parents to the dangers of some holiday “essentials.”
Poinsettias are poisonous to pets as well as mistletoe. Christmas tree ornaments can “attract” kitties and puppies due to their shiny appearance and especially dangling tinsel is a “fun thing” to play with but extremely dangerous if ingested. So, please protect your wonderful, precious pets from holiday harm and let them enjoy the season with a new soft ball or chew bone.
Sincerely,
Lorraine Mock
President, Newberry County Humane Society
