PTC holding commencement Thursday

GREENWOOD — Commencement exercises will begin at 3 p.m. in the Multipurpose Building at Piedmont Technical College in Greenwood.

Due to limited seating, tickets will be required for all guests attending the graduation ceremony. Each ticket holder, including children, will be entitled to one seat.

In recognition of their excellence and the stories they have told about their journeys in higher education, three graduating students will be speaking at the commencement ceremony.

Joe Brown, a resident of Whitmire, came to Piedmont Tech to combine his love of computers with his work at Newberry County Schools. He will be receiving his Associate in Applied Science Degree with a major in computer technology, networking concentration. He and his wife, Susie, have two children, Jennifer and Joseph.

Originally from North Carolina, Brandy Hudson came to Greenwood in search of a new career. She is graduating today with an Associate in Applied Science Degree with a major in engineering graphics technology. Through her internship, she will begin that new career as a lead designer for Eaton Electrical. She and her husband, Chris, have one son, Connor.

Tammy Walker is from Epworth and will be receiving her Associate in Science Degree. She plans to transfer to Clemson University where she hopes to pursue a career as a registered dietitian. She and her husband, Joshua, have four daughters, Emily, Rebecca, Hannah and Ali.

A special feature of commencement exercises will be recognition of top graduates from Abbeville, Edgefield, Greenwood, Laurens, Newberry and Saluda Counties.
