Rebels within one point of beating Union

PROSPERITY — The Mid-Carolina varsity boys’ basketball team fell a point short in its Monday night game against Union County.

The final score was a very close 60-59 game, with Union getting the win.

Chris Boyd was the top scorer for the Rebels with 12 points and followed by Brent Caldwell with 11 points. Danton Hyman was close behind with 10 points.

Zach Parker was able to score seven points for the Rebels.

Cornelius Glasgow and Marcus McMorris made six points each.

Javarius Nelson scored three points and Marcus Chapman and Tevarres Taylor each had two points.

The Rebels will hit the court again on Wednesday when they travel to Gilbert.
