Christmas at the Shelter

Dear Editor:

The annual Christmas party for the animals at the Newberry County shelter is set for Saturday, Dec. 8, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Please join the staff at the shelter to recognize their efforts and the pets who are waiting there for their forever home.

If you wish to make a donation, any animal care and cleaning supplies are always appreciated.

Sturdy toys that can be washed, warm blankets, or cash earmarked for Karunda beds to give the dogs a place to get off the cold concrete would be great.

What these dogs and cats need most is people.

Volunteers who can foster, or walk the dogs, or just visit make all the difference to these animals and their chances for adoption.

Remember that Newberry County has established one of the best low cost spay and neuter programs in the country.

Please take advantage of it to reduce the number of pets who will be there, helplessly waiting, next Christmas.

Jay Booth

Shelter Volunteer
