“We struggle to fill a roster year after year so when we step on the mat, we focus on winning head-to-head match-ups. In the record books we are 0-2 and the scores aren’t impressive. However, when you look at head-to-head match-ups, we tied Landrum splitting three matches each and we got the best of Mid-Carolina winning four matches to two. We started four freshemen out of our seven guys that we were able to put on the mat. When you consider that and how the head-to-head match-ups came out, I thought our guys got the season off to a strong start, ” said Whitmire’s Head Wrestling Coach Jarrod King.
