NEWBERRY - Susan Hawkins Rikard, 64, died Thursday, Nov.15, 2012, at Newberry County Memorial Hospital.

Born on Sept. 23, 1948, in Newberry, she was a daughter of the late Ernest Berley “Bill” Hawkins Jr. and Catherine Connelly Hawkins.

She retired in 2011 from Regency Woods Apartments as site manager. Mrs. Rikard was a member of Summer Memorial Lutheran Church. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and will be remembered for her kind heart, unconditional love and great cooking.

She is survived by her husband, Wayne Lee Rikard Sr.; children, Wayne Lee Rikard Jr., Christopher Heath Rikard Sr., Dawn Michelle Rikard and Bradley Neal (Brittany) Rikard all of Newberry; brother, Ernest Berley “Ernie” Hawkins III of Brevard, N.C.; grandchildren, Michelle Dawn Rikard, Heather Nicole Rikard, and Christopher Heath Rikard Jr. Mrs. Rikard was predeceased by a sister, Mary Catherine “Cathy” Hawkins Morris.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday, Nov. 17, 2012, at Newberry Memorial Gardens by Rev. Stephen Mims. The family will receive friends at the home.
