Football players, coaches recognized

The AC Automobile Dealers Association North-South All-Star game will be held on Dec. 8 in Myrtle Beach. Two Newberry County football players were selected to play and also two high school football coaches were asked to help coach. The Newberry County School Board recognized the following at Monday’s board meeting: Newberry High’s Tovaris Cureton, Mid-Carolina High’s Nick Sims-Metts, Whitmire Athletic Director Don Addis and Mid-Carolina High Athletic Director Louie Alexander. Cureton plays wide receiver and defensive back for the Bulldogs while Sims-Metts plays running back for the Rebels.
