NEWBERRY — The majority of Newberry County voters opted for Republican candidate Mitt Romney as president of the United States with 9,218 votes. Barack Obama captured 6,891 of the votes for the county. Three other candidates also got some votes: Gary Johnson had 89 votes, Virgil Goode had 30 votes and Jill Stein had 59 votes.
