Locals headed to All-Star game

MYRTLE BEACH — Two local coaches and players will be headed to the 64th North-South All-Star fooball game.

The rosters for the 64th North-South All-Star Football game have been released.

Joe Montgomery of Rock Hill will be the head coach of the North team. Joining him will be Louie Alexander of Mid-Carolina and Donald Addis of Whitmire. Also on the coaching staff are Will Young of Greer, Leon Hogan of Chapin and Johnny Mangum of Central.

Also on the North team are Mid-Carolina player Nick Sims-Metts and Newberry player Tovaris Cureton.

James Waring of St. Johns will be the head coach of the South team. His assistants will be Trey Woodberry of West Florence, Tim Renfrow of Socastee, Jeff Calabrese of Hartsville, Mike Donnalley of Wando and Robbie Brown of Dillon.

The game will be played on Dec. 8 at Myrtle Beach High School’s Doug Shaw Stadium with a 12:30 p.m. kickoff.

The North team won last years’ game 42-3 and leads the series leads 37-25-2.

Tickets will be $15 at the gate. Up to two children under 7 admitted free with one adult ticket holder.
