Mr. and Mrs. John Smith (formerly Ann Warren) of Newberry were married on Sunday, Nov. 4, 1962. They will be celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary on Sunday, Nov. 4, 2012.
They were married at Calvary Baptist Church, now College Street Baptist Church, by the late Rev. James M. Bruce.
Ann graduated from Newberry High School in 1962 and is a registered cosmetologist who graduated from Crown Beauty School in Columbia. She was the owner-operator of LaShea’s Beauty Salon for 42 years before retiring.
John graduated from Newberry High School in 1954. He completed a four year tour of duty with the United States Navy. He worked for Higgins Appliance Service and later opened his own business, John’s Appliance Service, which he still owns and operates. He is retired from Newberry City Fire Department as lieutenant.
They have two children, Joey Shea and Shannon Le’Tara (David) Longshore and two precious grandchildren, Kenley Camille and Bryson Wesley Longshore.
Joey, Shannon, David, Kenley and Bryson wish John and Ann many more happy years together.
