NEWBERRY — The Newberry Bulldogs will be playing at home Friday in the first round of the play-offs.

The ‘Dogs will take on Indian Land in the 7:30 game at Bulldog stadium.

The Fort Mill school went 1-9 on the season and 1-6 in region play but Newberry head coach Phil Strickland says the team is better than its record.

“They have not won many,” said Strickland. “But they do a lot of different stuff.”

The Indian Land Warriors is known for running multiple offensive and defensive plays.

“They are young and are getting better,” said Strickland.

The Bulldogs are 7-3 for the year and 6-2 in region play but the team experienced some bumps and bruises during last week’s victory over Mid-Carolina.

The winner of the game will go on to play away next week against Columbia High next week.

Only those with high school passes will be admitted free to the game on Friday and others will pay a $7 admission.

However, booster club parking and seating will be available, said Strickland.
