NEWBERRY — Newberry County Farm-City committee announces plans that the week of Nov. 16 – 22 will be celebrated demonstrating the National Farm City week.

The “Partners in Progress” theme recognizes rural and urban residents who have done so much to improve the quality of our lives.

The mission is to strengthen the understanding of the farm-city connections that provide our food, fiber, and shelter to the population.

The annual Farm-City Agricultural Appreciation banquet is scheduled for Nov. 20 at 7 p.m. at Central Methodist Church Henry Hall activity center.

Parklane Seafood from Columbia will cater the food.

Tickets are on sale for $12 at the Farm Bureau Office or from committee members. The public is welcome.

The 2012 Farm-City Committee members are Harold Folk, chairman, Jay Crouch, co-chairman, Lisa Shaw, secretary-treasurer, Margaret Brackett, publicity, Willie Morris, Rita Cromer, Mindy Ruff and Myra Jones.
