NEWBERRY — The Rev. John F. Bradosky, bishop of the North American Lutheran Church, will be the guest pastor for the 113th homecoming celebration and All Saints Sunday observance at the 11 a.m. worship service at Mayor Memorial Lutheran Church on Sunday, Nov. 4.
Bradosky, of Centerville, Ohio, was elected Bishop of the North American Lutheran Church (NALC) on Aug. 11, 2011, in the 2011 Convocation in Columbus, Ohio.
Prior to that election, Bradosky had served on the first general secretary of the NALC. Bradosky has 32 years of pastoral experience with diverse experience in organization and administration.
He has served in urban, suburban and multicultural settings.
Prior to his appointment as general secretary, Bradosky was senior pastor of Epiphany Lutheran Church in Dayton, Ohio, a large multi-campus Lutheran Church. He has also served St. John Lutheran Church in Springfield, Ohio; Trinity Lutheran Church in Canton, Ohio and Grace Lutheran Church in Huntington Beach, Calif.
The NALC is a fast growing Christian church body in the Lutheran tradition, uniting more than 100,000 Lutherans in more than 300 congregations across North America.
The NALC has embraced four core values which shape the church’s common life: Christ-centered, mission driven, traditionally-grounded and congregational-focused.
The NALC is a church family committed to the authority of the Bible as the inspired word of God in keeping with the Lutheran Confessions and belief all doctrines should and must be judged by the teaching of scripture.
On Oct. 2, 2011, Mayer Memorial Lutheran Church voted to affiliate with the NALC.
It is therefore, the churches great honor to have Bradosky as its homecoming preacher.
The church invites all in the Newberry community to join them on Nov. 4.
