WHITMIRE — Funeral services for Mrs. Minerva Hunter Clark, age 95, will be conducted on Sunday, Oct. 28, 2012, at 2 p.m. at Seekwell Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Mrs. Clark passed away on Tuesday, Oct. 23, 2012, at Wallace Thomson Hospital. Born in Union County, she was the daughter of the late Sanders Hunter and the late Carrie McCrakin Hunter. Mrs. Clark was a member of Seekwell Baptist Church where she was a member of the senior choir, usher board and “Mother of the Church.” She was also a member of Eastern Star Chapter #245.

Surviving are her children, Willie Mae Gray, Alvin Sanders Clark (Lynda); George Ralph Clark (Leila) James Lemmie Clark; John Robert Clark (Linda); Ronald Eugene Clark (Angela); all of Whitmire; one sister, Ella Giles of Winston-Salem, N.C.; 24 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren, 14 great-great grandchildren, two sisters-in-law, Mildred Clark of Philadelphia, Pa.; Lucille Hunter of New York; two brothers-in-law, Willis Clark of Whitmire; Bedford Hines of Wellford; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
