NEWBERRY — Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Alice Johnson- Sligh will be conducted on Thursday, Oct. 25, 2012, at 3 p.m. at Pratt Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in James Hopewell Baptist Church cemetery.

Mrs. Sligh was called to the Father’s House on Sunday, Oct. 21, 2012, at Newberry County Memorial Hospital. Born in Newberry County, she was the daughter of the late Sammie and Sallie Bell Johnson. She was a graduate of Gallman High School.

Mrs. Sligh was predeceased by her husband, Curtis Sligh; four brothers, Sammie Johnson Jr., David John, J. C. Johnson and Henry Lee Johnson; two sisters, Elizabeth Mozzell Johnson and Katie Bell Johnson.

Surviving are one sister, Lizzie Marshall; two brothers, James Ervin Johnson and Johnny Frank Johnson; nephews, Benjamin Johnson, Johnnie Johnson, Calvin’s Marshall Jr., Bernard Williams and J. R. Westfield; nieces, Anita Fredrick, Lucinda Johnson, Diyale Johnson and a host of other nieces, nephews and relatives.
