NEWBERRY — Newberry Police were dispatched to rowdy students on a school bus.
The call came in late Tuesday afternoon after students became disruptive on a bus in the area of Cline and Harris streets.
“The students were interfering with the operation of the bus,” according to Sgt. Allison Moore, who is over juvenile crimes at the police department.
Six students between the ages of 14 and 17 were charged with disrupting the operation of a school bus and will also face actions from the school district.
Moore says this was an isolated incident.
Newberry police officers boarded the school bus and others rode in front and behind the bus to escort the students to Newberry High School, where they were met by school administrators.
