NEWBERRY — Catherine Ellisor Meetze, 87, died Wednesday, Oct. 17, 2012, at White Oak Manor.

Born on April 16, 1925, in Columbia, she was a daughter of the late Gary Evans Carter Sr. and Mattie Gertrude Perry Carter. She was a member of West End Baptist Church.

She is survived by her husband, Lewie E. Meetze; daughters-in-law, JoAnn S. Ellisor of Newberry and Betty Jo D. Ellisor of Leesville; sisters, Jeanette Medlock, Sondra Dyches, Bonnie Strange all of Columbia, Dianne Carter of Greenville; sisters-in-law, Ruth Carter and Gail Carter, four grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews. Mrs. Meetze was predeceased by husbands, J.D. Ellisor Sr. and Thomas L. Milstead, sons, David Ellisor and Heyward Ellisor, brothers, John “Billy” Carter, Gary “Buck” Carter and Charles “Bo” Carter.

Graveside services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 20, 2012, at Newberry Memorial Gardens by the Rev. David Lyles. Visitation will be Friday from 6–7:30 p.m. at McSwain-Evans Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to West End Baptist Church, 620 Main Street, Newberry, SC 29108.

Active pallbearers will be David Todd Ellisor, Charles Clayton Ellisor, Jeremy Jon Hendricks, Harvey T. Hawkins, Lane Allen Maness, Kelli Ellisor Maness, Susan Ellisor Hendricks and Meredith C. Ellisor.
