Paul told the Philippians believers and us, do not be anxious about anything.
Philippians 4:6, “Be careful for nothing; but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your request be made unto God.”
God is actually forbidding us to worry or fret about anything; of course, there are normal concerns, but that is not what the Bible is talking about. It is talking about the distracting, anxious cares that gnaw at our soul, allowing little or no room for God’s peace to abide.
Paul commands us to stop it and don’t do it anymore. It’s easy to say and hard to do. The doing is both hard and easy. It’s hard in the sense that God’s Word often asks us to behave in ways contrary to our natural way. It is also easy once we understand that God never asks us to do something for which he does not enable and equip us.
We should tell God what is bothering us. Then we can be thankful and grateful that our God has heard our requests and will answer us according to His goodness. We need not worry. God himself takes on our problems, and His peace replaces our worries.
When we worry, it’s hard to pray. But now we realize that prayer is exactly what we need in such times. When we truly give our worries to God, we can trust him to handle them.
We should worry about nothing by praying about everything.
