PROSPERITY — The rain is not stopping the Mid-Carolina Rebels from hitting the football field in hopes of a win over rival Saluda on Friday.

Both Mid-Carolina and Saluda are coming off region losses last week with Saluda losing to Newberry.

Mid-Carolina coach Louie Alexander says his team has got to do something to get a win on the board.

One thing going into Friday’s away game is the wish of Alexander that he could shrink the size of the Saluda players.

“This is the biggest team we’ve played all season and they are athletic,” said Alexander.

Also Saluda is able to make plays in the secondary.

For the Rebels, Alexander says his young team needs to get better in all phases of the game.

They also need to get be able to cover Saluda better than they have done in previous games this year.

“We have got to take care of the ball,” added Alexander.
