Silverstreet resident installed as JCI vice president

ALTAMONTE SPRINGS, FLA. — Rita Bowles, senator, was recently installed as Region Four National Vice President of the U.S. JCI (Junior Chamber International) Senate at Altamonte Springs, Fla.

Bowles and her husband, Hal, reside in Silverstreet.

As National Vice President, she provides support to the states of Alabama, Florida, Georgia, North Carolina and South Carolina and serves on the national Board of Directors for the U.S. JCI Senate.

The U.S. JCI Senate consists of over 7,800 members throughout 50 states and the District of Columbia.

The purposes of the senate includes assisting and mentoring Jaycees, supporting the U.S. JCI Senate Foundation in bestowing college scholarships to graduating seniors and promoting fellowship among its members.

A senatorship is the highest international honor that can be given to a Jaycee.

Only 1 out of 1,000 Jaycees becomes a senator.
