WHITMIRE — This has been a tough season for the Whitmire football team but the 29 or so players are continuing to strive for a win.

The Wolverines are coming off another big loss but are looking at the positives, which included no turn overs last week in the game against Dixie.

The team choked when they got inside the 20 and were not able to get any points on the board.

This week the team that only has six seniors is looking for a win against Ware Shoals.

“We are going to surprise somebody,” said assistant coach Chris Martin in the young team’s quest for a win.

This week Whitmire will face Ware Shoals.

“It will be another challenge for us this week,” said coach Don Addis. “Their skill players players are really good.”

In fact, Addis says the Ware Shoals running back and quarterback “will be as good as anyone we’ve faced thus far.”

Addis adds his team needs to play with much more effort than they did last week.

“It was a very lackluster performance,” he said.
