PROSPERITY - Myrtle McCartha Lindler, 87, widow of Joseph Leroy Lindler, died Sept. 22, 2012, at White Oak Manor.

Born on Feb. 4, 1925, in Prosperity, she was a daughter of the late Forrest McCartha and Lera Boland McCartha Mills.

She was a homemaker and a member of Macedonia Lutheran Church where she was a member of the Goldies.

She is survived by a son, Calvin (Virginia) Lindler of Prosperity; a daughter-in-law, Charlene G. Lindler of Irmo; grandchildren, Tammy Lindler (Cliff) Hughes, James David (Amy) Lindler, and Cindy Lindler (Byan) Murdaugh; eight great-grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren; and five stepgreat-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by a son, David Lindler, a brother Clarance McCartha, and a stepgreat-grandchild.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Monday, Sept. 24, 2012, at Macedonia Lutheran Church by the Rev. Randall Derrick. Burial followed in Newberry Memorial Gardens.

Memorials may be made to Macedonia Lutheran Church, Sound System or Handbell Fund, 49 Macedonia Church Road, Prosperity, SC 29127or to a charity of ones choice.

McSwain-Evans Funeral Home was entrusted with the arrangements.
