The Golden Ministry ladies of the Living Hope Foundation discussed the book, “Life is so Good” by George Dawson and Richard Glausman on Tuesday at the Newberry County library. The read-a-thon was hosted by the Newberry County Literacy Council in order to promote literacy with adults and encourage them to read. The book is about a guy who learned how to read in his 90s.

The ladies in the Golden Ministry of the Living Hope Foundation came together Tuesday to discuss the novel, “Life is so Good”. Some have read it, some are reading it and some have yet to read it. However, the purpose was to promote literacy in the community. The ladies took the positive message from the book in regards to the father helping the son and staying positive in life.

Barbara Chapman with the Newberry County Literacy Council organized a read-a-thon Tuesday morning at the Newberry County Library. The week of Sept. 10-16 was National Adult Education and Family Literacy Week and Chapman is continuing to promote what the literacy council does. Chapman stated to “never give up because life is so good.”
