The Save our Shrine parade has been open to everyone and local Shriners hope to combine the parade with the proposed Agrifest Expo parade.
The Agrifest Expo committee had announced they were having a parade but the Save the Shrine committee applied with Newberry Police for a parade permit first and were granted the parade permit for Sept. 29.
Now the Save the Shrine committee is allowing anyone to be a part of the parade with the non-Shrine entries being at the start of the parade.
The Agrifest committee was scheduled to meet last night to discuss what they would put in the parade.
After the parade the Agrifest Expo will continue with a rodeo, rides, vendors and entertainment at the fairgrounds and the Save our Shrine event will be held at the Shrine Club with rides, entertainment and other events.
