For the first time in 30 years, Wiles Chapel at Newberry College is offering chapel services at 11 a.m. each Sunday.

In addition, chapel is offered each Wednesday at 10:10 a.m.

Services feature Dr. Bob Hawkins, the college’s new organist, and have also included music from members of the Newberry College Band, led by Josh Stevenson.

“Campus Ministry invites all students to participate and join us in worship and ministry,” Worman says. Several student organizations work with chapel services, including Each Committed to Helping Others (ECHO), Christians Living Among You (CLAY), Lutheran Student Movement and the Fellowship of Christian Athletes.

Worman’s short-term goals include a spiritual trip to Israel for a group of students, and repairs to the Weber Ministry House.

Over time, Worman hopes to form an elite team of students called the Campus Leadership Ministry Group. This group will assist with chapel, help plan events, spread the word about services and even lead chapel some Sundays.
