A Newberry man will spend eight years in jail after a shooting.
Kenneth Wayne Sligh Jr., 35, of James Drive, Newberry, pleaded guilty to assault and battery and was sentenced to eight years in prison.
Sligh shot two victims on Jones Drive on April 11.
He also pleaded guilty to possession of a weapon by a convicted felon and was sentenced to five years in prison.
Sligh also pleaded guilty to manufacturing meth and was sentenced to eight years.
In other cases heard in general sessions court:
• Bryce Jerial Houseal, 20, of Knoxville, Tenn., pleaded guilty to assault and battery and was sentenced to serve 30 days in jail.
• Delanda Antonio Cromer, 32, of 1205 Charles St., Newberry, pleaded guilty to three counts of forgery and was sentenced to five years; suspended to 21 days in jail and 36 months probation.
• Tentoz LaMar Jackson, 21, of Houston Road, Prosperity, pleaded guilty to grand larceny and burglary and was sentenced to a term not to exceed five years under the youthful offender act.
• Sharon Richburg, 48, of Richburg Lane, Prosperity, pleaded guilty to breach of trust and criminal conspiracy and was sentenced to three years in prison; suspended to time served and 24 months probation.
•Demerian Markquis Gilmore, 22, of 734 Gray St., Newberry, pleaded guilty to burglary and was sentenced to a term not to exceed five years under the youthful offender act; suspended to time served and 24 months probation.
Gilmore also pleaded guilty to petit larceny and was sentenced to 30 days in jail; suspended to time served.
• Brett William Dukes, 30, of 3217 Woodland Drive, Newberry, pleaded guilty to distribution of a controlled substance and was sentenced to one year; suspended to time served and two years probation.
• Brittley Alana Beck, of Macedonia Church Road, Newberry, pleaded guilty to accessory after the fact and was sentenced to 11 months; suspended to time served.
• Father Devine Allah, 42, of Bishopville, pleaded guilty to possession of a stolen vehicle and was sentenced to 30 days in jail; suspended to time served.
• Dylan Wesley Turner, of Blacksgate East, Prosperity, pleaded guilty to burglary and was sentenced to 90 days.
• Jandon Annettte Weir, 33, of Wheeland Road, Prosperity, pleaded guilty to attempting to possess a controlled substance and was sentenced to six months probation.
• Sheara Yolanda Hicks, 29, of Greenville, pleaded guilty to possession of a stolen vehicle and was sentenced to 30 days; suspended to 20 days.
• Gregory Boozer, 48, of Mosses G Road, Silverstreet, pleaded guilty to distribution of crack cocaine and was sentenced to 18 months in prison.
