Newberry College Wolves mascot, SCAR, gets the student athletes pepped up for a new school year at the pep rally Wednesday evening.
Newberry College’s Interim Athletic Director Matt Finley welcomes the college’s students, athletes and staff to the first pep rally on the portico in front of Holland Hall Wednesday. Finley also announced that the tradition of the victory bell would be brought back explaining that whenever a home game was won, the bell would ring.
Lindsey Barwick, cheerleading coach, organized this event and hopes that the tradition will continue.
Dave Davis, head men’s basketball coach at Newberry College, introduced all of the basketball players at the pep rally and is ready for the a new season.
Newberry College’s football coach Todd Knight introduced his football team and is excited about their two wins so far this season. The Wolves take on rival Catawba this Saturday.
Baseball coach Russell Triplett introduces his baseball team as well as the other spring sports athletes.
All of the students athletes at Newberry College gathered on Holland Hall’s portico for the first pep rally on the portico Wednesday evening. After the athletes were introduced and pepped up, they united in singing their alma mater together.
