Newberry College head men’s basketball coach Dave Davis has announced the final date for the 2012-13 schedule, as the Wolves will travel to Buies Creek, N.C., for a game with the Campbell University Camels at 7 p.m. on Nov. 29.
The game will count as a regular season game for the Camels, but is an exhibition game for the Wolves. Under new Division II legislation adopted this summer, Division II squads can play out-of-division exhibition games during the regular season.
The Camels went 17-15 in 2011-12 with an 11-7 Big South Conference record, losing in the first round of the conference tournament. Campbell plays its games in the 3,095-seat John W. Pope Convocation Center and Gilbert Craig Gore Arena, which opened in 2008.
The Wolves and Camels have never faced off in men’s basketball. The addition of this game gives Newberry two Division I exhibition opponents, as the Wolves also travel to Purdue on Nov. 3.
