Rotary honors a teacher for each month and with school back in session, the honoring has started. At Friday’s Newberry Rotary meeting, Pomaria-Garmany Principal Beth Brooks announced the teacher of the month. Debbie Shealy, who teaches at Pomaria-Garmany, won the award and has more than 29 years teaching public school but has also taught many other areas including music. She has a daughter and a son and teaches fifth grade at Pomaria-Garmany.
