While Isaac is expected to be upgraded to a hurricane later today and has caused a delay in the Republican National Convention, the storm has moved west and lessens the impact on Newberry County’s weather.
At one time it appeared the storm would come up through the Carolinas.
But now it appears the storm will make landfall in Louisiana and head towards the parched Midwest area.
However, thunderstorms are expected for our area from Tuesday through next week with forecasts of at least a 40 percent chance of rain each day.
Local emergency crews are keeping an eye on the weather and remind locals to do the same in case of bad thunderstorms.
