Workers are cleaning out the old library on Friend Street this week in efforts to start working to put in a new heat and air system and to make the building waterproof. The building it totally being cleaned out and some of the items that were stored in the facility were electronics, which according to Newberry County Administrator Wayne Adams were no longer serviceable. A worker throws items into a dumpster for disposal. While county leaders are working to make the building waterproof they have plans for a use for the building.
