Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church is looking forward to celebrating homecoming Sunday.

The service begins at 11 a.m. with a service delivered by Rev. Paul Rogers, a former pastor who buried the time capsule 25 years ago in the church’s handicap ramp.

Music will be delivered by former members and friends of the church.

Along with uncovering the 25 year old time capsule, the church members will have a traditional covered dish luncheon at the Reese Fellowship building. Everyone is asked to bring a dish.

Also, a video covering events at Mt. Pleasant during 1987 will be shown.

In addition to uncovering the time capsule, the church will bury another one for another 25 years.

This one will be for 2013 to 2038. Members of the church will be collecting items for the capsule beginning on homecoming Sunday through December.

A box will be placed at the homecoming luncheon for time capsule items.

The church is located off Highway 34 at 2360 Mt. Pleasant Road, Pomaria.
