Wet weather hampered National Night Out but did not stop the fun. The Newberry County Sheriff’s Office moved its event inside while the City of Newberry continued with the event at the park. However games were cut short and the crowd stayed under the shelter for much of the event.

Newberry Fire Chief Keith Minick, right, goes head to head with Newberry City Councilman Gregg Summer. Minick was the winner of the chief’s battle with raising $240 for Bridges from Augusta and Newberry Police Chief Jackie Swindler raising $139 for Young Life. Minick will get the entire pot for his charity.
