With the start of football practice and the upcoming season, it is also time for joining the Newberry County Touchdown Club.
The club meets monthly at which time the members hear from the high school and college coaches, a speaker and players of the month are announced.
The first meeting will be Aug. 20 at 7:30 p.m. at Community Hall on the square in Newberry.
To kick off the season Newberry College Football Coach Todd Knight will give those in attendance a sneak peek into the upcoming season which kicks off Sept. 1.
And of course, the high school coaches from Mid-Carolina, Newberry and Whitmire will be there to share insight and game plans for the upcoming season.
Dreher High School coach and former Newberry College standout quarterback Josh Stepp will speak on Sept 24.
Stepp will talk about his success on the field and how these experiences shaped who he is today.
The annual Clemson and Carolina banquet will end the season on Nov. 19.
Individual memberships are $75 which includes $35 for meals.
Also meals are available at the door for $12 each.
Business memberships are $125 and includes two meals to the Nov. 19 meeting. Advanced tickets can be purchased for $25, which includes four catered meals.
