A Newberry man was sentenced to 10 years in prison after pleading guilty to four armed robberies
James Ojore Tribble, 20, of 625 Dixie Drive, Newberry, pleaded guilty to four counts of armed robbery and one count of criminal conspiracy on July 30 and was sentenced to 10 years in prison.
Eighth Circuit Solicitor Jerry Peace said on April 20, 2010, Tribble conspired with other co-defendants to enter Robert’s Citgo at 1843 Wilson Road, Newberry and rob the store while armed with a pistol.
Tribble also on Dec. 30, 2009, robbed the Citgo Station located at 11339 C.R. Koon Highway.
“Tribble presented a pistol and demanded the cash register drawer and then left the store,” said Peace.
On Dec. 28, 2009, he also went into the Lil’ Cricket Store located on 1315 Kendall Road, presented a handgun and took cash from the store.
Tribble also robbed a taxi cab driver with a pistol on July 27, 2009.
Peace says the handgun that Tribble used in the robberies turned out to be a BB gun.
Circuit Court Judge George C. James Jr. heard the case last week.
