The following Newberry County residents graduated this spring from Lander University:

Shonquavious Marquis Cannon, Newberry, Bachelor of Science, computer information aystems
Cannon also received Lander’s Golden L award for earning a cumulative GPA of at least 3.5 in the last 60 hours of instruction.
Jonathan Franklin Wooten, Newberry, Bachelor of Science, business administration
More than 280 graduated at the Lander University spring commencement ceremonies in April. Howard C. Kauffmann, an oil industry executive for more than 40 years who retired in 1985 as director and president of Exxon Corporation, delivered the keynote address to a full house at Lander’s Horne Arena.
One hundred three graduates received honors at the ceremony. Honors included summa cum laude, magna cum laude and cum laude. Graduates also received Lander’s Golden L award, which is given to students who have earned a cumulative GPA of at least 3.5 in the last 60 hours of instruction through Lander University.
