An early morning domestic has left one person shot and the alleged suspect in custody.

At 6:04 a.m., Newberry County Sheriff’s deputies were called to a residence on Highway 773 in Prosperity for a female having been shot.

Deputies arrived on scene and found the victim suffering a single gunshot wound to the face/ear area.

She was transported to a hospital for treatment; deputies would not name the hospital because the suspect is still at large.

Deputies searched for the victim’s boyfriend, Robert Allen Kinard, 37, of 889 South Main St., Prosperity and located him before 11 a.m.

Deputies located the suspect’s vehicle in the Little Mountain area of Newberry County on Highway 76 and he was taken into custody without incident.

Kinard will be transported to the Newberry County Detention Center where official charges will be filed.

A bond hearing has not yet been scheduled and warrants are being obtained charging him with attempted murder.

The victim’s injuries are not life threatening.
